Buying Guide
Without a doubt, choosing a stroller is going to be one of the biggest decisions you make when it comes to baby products. Getting from here to there with a baby in tow can be trying at times. Having the right baby stroller will make life much easier.
So which stroller is right for you? Your selection needs to take into account your environment, your daily activities, your frequency, your budget and many other factors.
Here are the major baby stroller categories, each offering baby and parent a variety of options and features that can drastically improve your time away from home.
Full Size Strollers: Also called standard strollers in this broad category you will find single baby, four wheeled baby strollers that are convenient, durable, and versatile. They are generally used as “every day strollers” and can easily be taken on walks, to the mall etc.
Travel Systems: These strollers consist of a full size standard stroller and matching infant car seat. They are ideal for new parents who want to buy all of their baby travel gear in one shot. Travel Systems offer the peace of mind that everything will work together and look good together as well.
Jogging Strollers: These have three large, air filled rubber wheels which make pushing it while running easier. Unlike similar looking all terrain strollers, jogging stroller’s front wheel is stationary or lockable. This makes running easier but limits maneuverability. If you plan on running with your child make sure to purchase a true jogging stroller. Other baby strollers lack the mechanics and safety features necessary to insure a safe and comfortable ride.
All Terrain Strollers: These are like the SUVs of the stroller world. They are larger, sturdier and sportier than a standard stroller, but are more maneuverable and don’t have the saftey features of jogging strollers. The all terrain stroller fills the gap between these other two categories, giving you more options on your daily walks.
Combo Strollers: Like their name suggests, these strollers are the ultimate in versatile baby transport. They include everything you need to tackle many different siutations and are suitable for many different stages of your child’s life.
Lightweight & Umbrella Strollers: After your baby reaches toddler years, you may not always need or want to cart them around in your full size stroller, that is where the light weight baby strollers come in. Small and compact they are perfect for a quick trip to the store, or long trip where bringing your standard stroller isn’t practical (ie air travel).
